Agnes I. Bartha, M.D.
Agnes Bartha is a clinical research fellow in the Neonatal Brain Disorders
Center at UCSF. Her research focuses on how advanced MR imaging techniques
can assess brain injury in term newborns around birth (BAMRI study) and
in fetuses before they are born (Fetal MRI study). She has been instrumental
setting up an international study that will assess how to better diagnose
and treat neonatal seizures, the most common clinical sign for neurologically
compromised neonates.
She received her medical degree and residency training in pathology
from Semmelweis University Medical School in Budapest, Hungary, and postgraduate
training in clinical research at UCSF. Families enrolled in the BAMRI
and Fetal studies meet Agnes at the time of enrollment and at follow-up
visits, and may discuss the study with her.
