Welcome to the Cardiac MRI study homepage!

Dear Families

Welcome to the CARDIAC MRI study home page we will like to thank you for taking that time and agreeing or considering to participated in THE CARDIAC MRI study.

The focus of this study is conducting to determine if pictures of the brain obtained using a magnet (magnetic Resonance) can help detect brain injury in babies undergoing surgery for congenital heart disease.

The developmental outcome is very important to determine the value of the MRI. As a result of this, it is very important that we continue to see your child for all of his or he schedule follow up visits. We ensure that appointments get scheduled and that you have a way to contact us if and when you have any questions. Our standard follow-up points are one year, two-and- a-half years, and four years of age. At each of the follow-up-exams we do a neurological exam and developmental assessment.

We want to make this webpage a valuable tool to you, so please let us know if you have any comments or questions about the structure of the site.

Once again, thank you for your participation, and we look forward to hear from you!

Patrick McQuillen M.D.
Principal Investigator
